A new name!

On January 1st, 2017, our name changed from Christ the King - Dietrich Bonhoeffer Lutheran Church, to Thornhill Lutheran Church. Our old name was chosen in 1989 upon the merger of the Christ the King and Dietrich Bonhoeffer congregations, a merger which was completed in the matter of months. Our old name was the longest in the ELCIC, and it proved to be somewhat difficult and ungainly. In 2016 we decided to simplify our name to reflect who we really are: Lutherans gathering in Thornhill. The focus of our church life will continue to be Jesus Christ, and we will continue to honour the legacy of the great theologian and martyr, Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
